Real quick: I received a digital review copy of You Out of Nowhere as part of my participation in a blog tour. This neither affects my opinion nor the content of my review. Many thanks to the #romanceclass authors for this fantastic opportunity!

You Out of Nowhere is the first of many upcoming steamy, contemporary, Filipino romance novels from the #romanceclassFlair project. The story begins with 31-year-old Kris Jimenez taking notice of a gorgeous stranger on a train, who happens to be holding a copy of Pride and Prejudice. Said stranger turns out to be Ringo de Dios, a 24-year-old workaholic trying to climb up the corporate ladder. Sparks fly, but their flirtation doesn’t end in the train. Somewhere along the way, they find themselves on the same flight to Seoul, Korea.

To kick off this book review, here’s a short disclaimer: I received a digital Advanced Reader’s Copy (ARC) of Fire Lines as part of my participation in a blog tour hosted by A Daydreamer’s Thoughts. This, however, neither affects my opinion nor the content of my review in any way.

For seventeen years, Émi, as well as the entire citizenry of Nhatu, was taught that the high walls isolating their city from the rest of the world were built to protect them against the armies of Mahg, a power-hungry wielder of black magick. Beyond the walls lay barren wastelands and unsightly ruins of the three other cities, which were completely destroyed by Mahg’s wrath.

Supposedly.

Before anything else, I received a digital Advanced Reader’s Copy (ARC) of this book from the author herself. Many, many thanks to Helen Scheuerer for the incredible opportunity! She’s an absolute blessing.

Heart of Mist is a fast-paced fantasy epic that’s set in a magical realm (where magic is forbidden!) composed of four continents: Ellest, Battalon, Havennesse, and Qatrola. Their borders are shrouded in a deadly mist, which threatens to kill more and more civilians as it continues to consume lands while gradually inching towards the kingdoms.

The story largely follows the struggles of Bleak, an orphaned gutter rat from the coastal village of Angove. Cursed with magical abilities that plague her everyday life, she desperately scours the kingdoms for a cure and self-medicates with alcohol. In her fruitless search for healing, she finds something else entirely: trouble. As well as an inevitable battle of power and politics she wants no part in.
