Synopsis:

In a realm where toxic mist sweeps the lands and magic is forbidden, all Bleak wants is a cure for her power.

Still grieving the death of her guardian and dangerously self-medicating with alcohol, Bleak is snatched from her home by the Commander of the King’s Army, and summoned to the capital.

But the king isn’t the only one interested in Bleak’s powers. The leader of an infamous society of warriors, the Valia Kindred, lays claim to her as well, and Bleak finds herself in the middle of a much bigger battle than she anticipated.

Heart of Mist is the gripping first book in The Oremere Chronicles, a fantasy series of epic proportions.

About the author:

After writing literary fiction for a number of years, novels like Throne of Glass, Elantris, The Queen’s Poisoner and The Queen of the Tearling inspired Helen Scheuerer to return to her childhood love of fantasy.

Helen is also the Founding Editor of Writer’s Edit (www.writersedit.com), an online literary magazine and learning platform for emerging writers. It’s now one of the largest writers’ platforms in the world.

Helen’s love of writing and books led her to pursue a Bachelor of Creative Arts, majoring in Creative Writing at the University of Wollongong and a Masters of Publishing at the University of Sydney. She now works as a freelance writer and editor, while she works on the second book in The Oremere Chronicles.

About the blog tour:

With only a couple of months left in 2017, I can confidently say that Heart of Mist is the most phenomenal book I’ve read this year! As a 2017 YA fantasy debut novel, it completely exceeded my expectations. I loved it so much that when Helen asked me to be a part of her street team, I said absolutely in a heartbeat!

Recently, I’ve teamed up with Helen to organize a blog tour for her book because I genuinely, truly believe that Heart of Mist deserves a whole lot more praise and recognition than it has already received. To be fully honest, this is my first time to host and put together a promotional blog tour, and I am incredibly excited! It’s slightly daunting to organize an event (albeit online) in the middle of my semester (which means exams, projects, reports, papers, and bucketfuls of tears in between), but I’m crossing my fingers that everything will progress smoothly.

Since I am a blogger based in the Philippines, the tour will follow my country’s time zone (UTC+08:00). Additionally, although the blog tour is open to everyone, PH bloggers are very much encouraged to sign up!

The blog tour will run from October 22nd to October 27th, with two (2) to three (3) stops per day until the 26th (depending on the number of tour participants). On the 27th, there will be a promotional Twitter chat for Heart of Mist, which will serve as the culminating activity of the tour. Sign-ups will close on the 14th of October, and official participants will be given digital copies, together with other important tour materials, the day after.
